What is Surgical Co-Management?

Co-management of the pre and post-operative care of patients undergoing refractive or medical procedures is an important way Eyecare Associates helps to provide comprehensive care to patients with many needs. Our providers work closely with several surgeons and surgery centers across the state of Montana to help limit additional travel time and cost to those patients seeking refractive procedures such as LASIK and PRK, or medical procedures including cataract extraction.

Cataract Surgery is done once per month at the local hospital and pre and post-operative care is managed at Eyecare Associates starting with an annual exam/evaluation and continuing into one day, one week, one month, and six month follow up visits.

Surgery centers located in Great Falls, Billings, and Bozeman (among others) are used a referral centers for laser vision correction surgeries (including but not limited to LASIK and PRK). Eyecare Associates can provide the pre-operative evaluation to help determine candidacy for these procedures and make the appropriate referrals as well as handling the post operative care.

Referral for emergency and other specialty surgery services are provided based on the ocular health evaluation done at Eyecare Associates.
