|Our careful and gradual return to care: To ensure a safe environment, we are heeding state and federal mandates and taking many precautions including: Staff must take their temperature before work. Patients are screened by phone before arrival to assess their risk factors. Providers, staff, and patients must wear masks. Patients are asked to bring a mask or face covering. When they do not, one is provided. Temperatures are taken of all patients and visitors upon arrival. Strict hand hygiene is practiced, and surfaces are regularly disinfected. The number of individuals in any given space is reduced to allow ample social distancing. Unless there is a true need for a caregiver, accompanying guests are asked to wait safely in their car.|
|Enjoy the freedom of contact lenses, even if you never thought you could! Newer materials and advancements in contact lens technology offer the potential for successful contact lens wear to most of our patients.
Because contact lenses are a medical device, they require expert fitting and careful instruction, as well as conscientious care and follow-up examinations to maintain the healthy functioning of your eyes. Below is an overview of our contact lens procedure.
The Eye ExamBefore you can be fitted for contact lenses, a complete ocular health and refractive examination is necessary. This exam is critical to assuring the good health of your eyes and ruling out the possibility of any unsuspected, underlying condition which may prevent contact lens use. If contact lenses are an option, the complete eye exam will help us select the most appropriate lens material and design.
Contact Lens FittingThe goal of contact lens fitting is to find the most appropriate contact lens for your optimal comfort and vision. An enormous variety of types, styles, materials, sizes and colors are offered. We are committed to taking the time and making the effort to fit you properly with the latest in contact lens technology. Although many patients need only one fitting session, some require several appointments. In our experience, the extra time, effort and patience are very worthwhile, both for your ultimate satisfaction and the health of your eyes.
Insertion and Removal Training SessionDuring the appointment, our contact lens specialist will provide personalized instruction in the safe care, insertion, and removal of your new lenses. Should further time be required, we will be happy to schedule an additional session (without charge). Upon completion of a successful insertion and removal session, you may begin wearing your lenses. We will schedule your first follow-up appointment usually within 7 to 10 days.
Follow-up AppointmentsOne or more follow-up appointments will be necessary to assure that your contact lenses continue to fit well and your eyes remain healthy.
Contact lens prescriptions expire after a 12-month period which necessitates an annual ocular health exam and contact lens fit assessment.
Our Special WarrantyWith all of the new advanced materials being used to make contact lenses and our extensive experience fitting lenses, we have very few patients who are unable to wear contact lenses. If, however, either you or your doctor decide to stop the fitting of the contact lenses, a refund of the cost of the lenses may be given during the warranty period. No refund will be given after three months. There will be no refund of the fitting fee.
